Reasons You Should Get an Elevated Dog Bed

What are the qualities you look for in a bed? Comfort, support, durability, and hygiene are important for most people. Same thing applies for our canine friends. Elevated beds provide them the ultimate sleep experience!

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie!

Adult dogs sleep for around 12 – 14 hours a day on an average. That means they sleep almost half their life.

Just like every other member of your family, your beloved pet needs a bed of his own to relax and unwind. Start by teaching your dog to “go to place”.  Not only does it give your dog a place to chill out, this is a great tool for those times when having your not be in the way is helpful. There are numerous styles of dog beds. Pillow beds, bolster beds, orthopedic beds, elevated beds and combinations of those. We have found the best of those beds are ones where you can wash the cover as well as the filler too. Raised dog beds offer numerous benefits as well.

Benefits of Elevated Dog Beds

Good Support

Elevated dog beds provide uniform support

Let's Work Together!

Sprawling on a giant pillow may sound very comfy, but it’s not healthy in the long run. Pets need a bed that will provide uniform support, particularly as they age. Elevated dog beds are sturdy and easier to get out of for some dogs.

Comfortable Temperature

Elevated dog beds are insulating

Pillow beds can become very hot during the summer and conversely feel cold in winter. Elevated dog beds eliminate this problem completely as they are insulating. Air can easily pass under these beds. Hence, they provide relief in summers and keep the dog away from the cold floor in winters. They are also good for using outside for times when you and your pooch want to chill out outdoors. (always supervised of course!)

Easier to Clean

Elevated beds ensure optimum hygiene

Pillow beds can collect dirt and hair may start to smell a bit. Washing them is certainly possible but reassembly can be tricky depending on the style and the brand. The advantage of an elevated bed is that it is very easy to clean.

Elevated beds last longer than pillow beds

Dogs love to chew! If your dog has chewed through a plush type bed then an elevated bed would be perfect. If you have a digger or a dog that likes to fluff her bed and elevated bed may not give them much pleasure.
