A mix between a Boxer and a Siberian husky is a great dog, if you teach it to be one. There are a few things you need to know before getting a Boxer-Siberian Husky mix. DogAppy will brief you on the characteristic looks, temperament, and other information about the Bosky.
Two opposites!
Boxers are normally good with other animals (may sometimes fight with the same sex). Huskies, on the other hand, have a strong prey drive, which is why they’ll want to chase everything that is smaller than them and which moves.
So, what conspires to exactly happen when a Boxer and a Siberian Husky decide to become one? The result is a cute mixed breed―Boxer-Siberian Husky Mix Breed or Bosky in short―that borrows the traits and looks of both its parents and is sure to bowl you over. If you are a pet owner who has decided on keeping this mix breed as a pet (good choice, we must say), we take the opportunity to put forth some useful information about this mixed breed, and in return, only ascertaining the fact that this cute little bundle of joy won’t be a disappointment of sorts, provided you note down a few pointers. So, read on!

About the Bosky
It is a mix breed, which makes it a tad difficult to predict any features about it. Its looks and personality cannot be exactly known till the dog is mature. The dog may have characteristics of both parents or of either of them.
Appearance
▶ The size of a Bosky can be like a Husky or a Boxer, but it will be quite a big dog, weighing between 35 – 75 pounds.
▶ The ears can be sloppy in the initial years and then sometimes, they can be erect too. It all depends on the genes.
▶ They attain a height that’s in the range of 20 to 35 inches.
A key factor that determines the size of this mix breed is the environment it thrives in. A clean environment, adequate shelter, and nursing from time to time, along with proper care of the diet will result in a mix breed puppy that’s larger than it is supposed to be. On the other hand, a diseased environment will stunt its growth, and this mix breed will appear smaller than it is supposed to be.
Temperament
▶ This is a very sweet and loving dog.
▶ The husky side of it can howl continuously, unless it’s taught not to do so. Otherwise, it doesn’t bark much and will talk to you, literally!
▶ It can suffer from separation anxiety if left alone for sometime, which means that it needs constant attention.
▶ It is a mix of two hyperactive breeds; hence, make sure it gets a lot of exercise.
Care
Health Issues
▶ One can’t say much about the health of a mix breed; they may be stronger than their parents, or might be weak. Checkups on a yearly basis should always be done to avoid any problems.
▶ Tumors can be common in Boxers, so watch out for the same in your Bosky pet.
Consider These
▶ This dog can be very stubborn and has its own mind; hence, it is not advisable for first-time owners. Because of this behavior, it cannot be left off its leash.
▶ It needs lot of exercise, physically and mentally. Hence, be ready to provide for the same.
▶ A good fenced yard will be needed, which will give it the essential exercise and will save it from escaping as Huskies are known for their escaping talents.
▶ Early socializing is a must. If not provided, their dominant nature will get worse with time.
